With over 35 years of experience in investment banking, Sam Gortler is a leading deal maker in the Israeli market, having advised dozens of marquee transactions.
Prior to founding Goren Capital Group, Mr Gortler headed the Investment Banking division of Clal Group. In that capacity, Mr Gortler managed Clal Underwriting and Clal’s private investment arm. From 1994 to 2002, Mr Gortler also acted as a “Country Advisor” for UBS Investment Bank.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gortler worked as corporate and securities lawyer at Willkie, Farr & Gallagher (NYC), a leading securities, finance, and corporate law firm in the US. Sam started his career as clerk at the Israeli Supreme Court following a period as an associate lawyer at Naschitz Brandes & Co. He earned L.L.B in law (with Honors) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
In 1997, Mr Gortler founded Goren Capital Group, which became under his leadership a leading boutique Investment Bank within the Israeli market.
Mr Gortler has advised on some of the largest transactions in the Israeli market in recent years and gained robust understanding on key issues across the entire Corporate and Project Finance spectrum, including merger & acquisitions, financial policy, capital structure, financing alternatives and Israel’s banking and securities regulations.
In his capacity of an advisor, he led negotiations, on behalf of clients, with financial institutions and controlling shareholders whilst minding banking and financial-institutions legislation, thereby controlling and supervising all deal aspects. In addition, Mr Gortler’s privatization record is unparalleled, as he advised the Israeli Government on some of its largest privatization programmes such as Bank Leumi, Israel Discount Bank, the Oil refineries and Israeli Aerospace Industries.
Mr Gortler has served on the Board of Directors of several leading corporations, including Israel Discount Bank of New York, Keshet Media Group, ZIM Integrated Shipping and Ofer Investments.
Mr Gortler currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Tel-Aviv Museum, and was previously a member of the Board of the Society for the Protection of Nature, Ruppin Academic Centre and a member of the Israeli Competition Tribunal.
Earlier in his career, was a manager in the Deal Advisory department, specifically in the Valuations and Commercial Due Diligence teams, at KPMG Israel.
Started his career at E&Y Israel, working for the International Tax and Transactions Department, in the Transfer Pricing and Financial Modelling teams.
MBA from Tel Aviv University, graduating with honors. B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
Prior to joining Goren Capital, Yuval was a senior analyst in the corporate finance department of a consulting company, specializing in valuations and commercial due diligence. In addition, he served as an assistant to a CEO of a public company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Yuval holds an MBA with a specialization in capital markets and fintech, and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration, both from Tel Aviv University.
Prior joining to GCG, Claudia gained a considerable experience for 9 years as financial controller serving local and multinational companies. Her previous experience includes working in assurance department in Deloitte Israel providing audit services for various organizations. Claudia is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel since 2010.
